About Our Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA

Our veterinarian, Dr. Andrew Silverstone, became the owner of Veterinary Hospital of Virginia Beach in 2003. Since then, he’s been dedicated to putting pets and their people first. He and the rest of our team are committed to providing your family’s pets with the highest standards of care through all their life stages. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, turtle, ferret, fish, bees or other exotic pets, we’re able to provide exceptional veterinary care to your extended furry, feathered, or scaly family.

In addition to our ability to provide care for a wide range of species, our veterinarians are also USDA accredited. This means that we can issue pet health certificates for domestic and international travel. So, whether you’re taking your best friend on a vacation with you or are moving to a new state or country, we can help make the trip as smooth as possible for you and your pet.

Community Involvement with Scouts BSA & Girl Scouts

In addition to the impressive work Dr. Silverstone does in his day-to-day veterinary practice, he is also heavily involved with the Scouts BSA and the Girl Scouts. As an Eagle Scout himself, he is the Den Leader of Virginia Beach’s first female Cub Scout Den. With the Girl Scouts, he’s hosted beekeeping demonstrations and other veterinary-inspired events to help get the girls involved with animals, nature, and veterinary medicine.

Dr. Silverstone’s story with the Boy Scouts is a bit untraditional as he received his Eagle Scout status later in life. His project to earn the rank was tied tightly with his love of animals and involved bringing pets to nursing homes for the enrichment of the nursing home residents. He was able to bring cats, dogs, and even a horse, much to the delight of the residents. Having his daughter involved in the Scouts is an exciting prospect and he looks forward to doing the same things with his daughter that he got to do at her age.
